MIDDLE RASEN DUCK RACE PRIZE DRAW LIST 2024 RECORDS BROKEN AGAIN! It was a very Happy New Year's Day in Middle Rasen on 1st January 2024, the Duck Race began with a record breaking 1,800 ducks entering the water and exactly 10 minutes later, another record was broken for the fastest race. Richard Corrigan won 1st and 2nd place despite his duck numbers being three hundred apart, he won a total of £170 donated by Appleyard Pressure Washing Services and Wilmot Transport Ltd. Monetary prizes were awarded up to 6th place and also the last duck owner - S Gilliat won £30 donated by Planet Circus. The prize giving was held at the Nag's Head (Thanks to Mandy and Nigel Appleyard) where all ducks had the chance to win further prizes in the draw and a raffle was also held. ALL prizes were donated by local people and businesses, for which we are very grateful and ALL proceeds will go to local worthy causes including the upkeep and maintenance of the three Defibrillators in the village, placed at the Village Hall, the Church Hall and the Nag's Head. A full list of prize donors and past beneficiaries can be found on the Middle Rasen Duck Race FB page and also via a link on the Middle Rasen website. One prize winner (name given as Tim with duck 1770) who won a pen is being sought as his mobile number was recorded incorrectly. Marie and Matthew Jennings bought a duck ( 1375) for their dog “Lucy “, she won a Day at the Races! I can see a dog treat (bribe) coming her way. Esme who attended with her Dad is pictured here holding her duck! Finally, we can announce the team managed to raise the record breaking and fantastic amount of £2,067! We will try not to let fame go to our heads, despite Look North being there to film the event and BBC Radio Lincolnshire interviewing one of our team. If you have any suggestions of local charities or organisations who would benefit from a donation from the duck race, please do get in touch with a member of the committee. Thank you for your support - We hope to see you all again next year!
See you all Next Year. |
