The Duck Race had been run for 21 years prior to the present team taking over, who have now run it for 8
years, meaning it has been going for 29 years. The present team have raised over £9000 in the past 7 years,
which has or will be donated to local worthy causes. The most ducks that has been put into the River Rase
was 1800 last year and this year that is likely to be exceeded. The first year about £1000 was raised, last year
(2024) £2067 was raised. It should also be noted that the Middle Rasen Duck Race Committee also raised
enough funds to have two defibrillators located within the village using the West Lindsey Community
Defibrillator Scheme; also we have now taken on Guardianship of a 3rd Defibrillator (funds raised by the Gala
Charity Committee, which has since disbanded). We are dedicated to ensuring the defibrillators remain and
have joined the West Lindsey Community Defibrillator Maintenance Scheme at an annual cost of £318 for the
three defibrillators. This scheme ensures that the pads and batteries are changed when are due or have been
used.
